Mold: It’s as old as the Earth and it’s everywhere – inside homes and out. And, under the right set of conditions, it can actually start to grow inside your house.

Even though the issue of household mold is not new, you may have heard something about it recently in the media.

The Building Contractors Association of Southwestern Idaho has compiled a Home Owner Maintenance Checklist of routine maintenance procedures you can follow to prevent mold problems. Simply click the link below to download the checklist and you will be on your way to Maintaining a Healthy Home!

In addition, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), and others, have prepared consumer information to help you understand what mold is, how it can grow in your home, additional maintenance procedures, and methods of removing mold already in your home.

Maintenance Checklist

So you’ve just moved into your brand new home. The moving trucks have left, all the boxes are unpacked, and all your belongings are in their proper places.

What should you do now?

One of the most important things to remember is you are responsible for certain routine maintenance items to keep your house functioning properly. These tasks tend to be relatively simple, but left unchecked, can cause significant losses to your property.

Take a minute to review the Home Maintenance Checklists below for both Spring and Fall, and you’ll be well on your way to Maintaining a Healthy Home. For your convenience they are provided as easily printable Adobe Acrobat PDF documents.
